Depth Chart For Wake Forest Game

Depth Chart Notables

-Even though last weeks depth chart had Andrew Wallace starting at Left Tackle, Jake Vermiglio actually started in the game versus Pitt after getting cleared off of the injury report last Thursday. He will start again this week as would be expected with a healthy Vermiglio.

-After starting at Free Safety versus Pitt, Brandan Bishop will start again this week against Wake Forest this week with Clem Johnson backing him up.

Looks like some reward to Bishop for the great play last week. Clem confuses me from time to time considering his talent level.

I hope Eugene is healthy.... He was HUGE for us and is a great balance to Toney. Maybe mind games by TOB???

Side note anyone happen to have the stats for player penalties... Id love to know who on the o-line kept jumping off sides or if it was a combo of everyone!!! NO DOUBT TOB is working on that this week...

I'm confused by your notes because Clem and Jamelle are on the depth chart.

Thanks anon...I fixed it. I was comparing last weeks to this weeks and I got mixed up. My apologies for causing fans to freak for a second.

You can calm down now Pack Leader. My bad.

From what I heard, Owen was throwing up w/ the doctors, which is a talltell sign of a serious concussion. I dont expect him to be back for atleast 2 more weeks after Wake. No need to rush him back considering the great play of the WR. Russell was out 2 weeks and his concussion, to me, wasnt has bad as Owens.

I'm not *too* worried about Spencer. He did take an awful hard hit and suffered a concussion. I haven't heard what level of concussion he sustained (has anyone?)

But wide receiver is a position in which we are blessed with some seriously deep talent. We can go without Spencer long enough for him to fully recover. No need to risk him before he is ready.

Besides, knowing TOB, when the injury report comes out on Thursday, Owen Spencer may not even be on it. TOB likes keeping people guessing until the last possible moment!

BTW, Jarvis is in one of my classes..today, he told me that he was pretty certain he caught that pass but they told him the nose of the ball may have touched..

Hoosier - I appreciate that tid-bit! For the record, I really think that the referees struggled on Saturday. I'm being nice. If they call that a touchdown, they wouldn't have had enough video replay 'evidence to overturn the call. But, because they called it incomplete, and the cameras weren't in the best positions, then there wasn't evidence to reverse their call! everyone in that stadium, including Jarvis, believes that he caught that ball. If you go back and watch it, it looks like he caught it, too. The effort alone was worth giving it to him!

Similarly, the punt that hit the Pitt player should have been a Pack Touchdown! If you go back to the DVR, the ball definitely hit the Pitt guy and there certainly wasn't "five players in the backfield" on that punt. So, why was the play called dead, and a penalty called for a re-punt? Referee confusion! they blew the whistle when they should not have, and at that point they have to call something that requires a 'do over.'

Okay, now to the Depth Chart. I am having a hard time with starting Maddox over Manning after the performance I saw out of the two of them on Saturday. there HAS to be something that we don't see. Argh.

Congratulations Brandan 'Check Mate' Bishop! You deserve the start v. Wake Forest!

    Go Pack!

Could someone explain the five man in backfield punt penalties. I paused my DVR and I can definately count. It had to be the formation.

If you look through the raw pictures that the N&O had for the game there is one picture shows the catch by Jarvis and the ball was touching the grass. Great effort but not quite a catch. I think Russell would like to have that one back. He made up for it on 4th and forever.
