3 Responses to "ACC Statistical Team Leaders After Week 5"Special teams has to get better if we are going to make any kind of a run in the second half of the season. We can't let opponents start their drives on their own 35-40 every time.
Great stats WPPS as always! You're right morpheus647, the kicking coverage plays a much bigger role than people realize...field position is the key to winning games. The punting game has to improve too...I can punt better than that.
O'Brien has said that he has been giving some younger guys opportunities to work on Special Teams. Some of those duties will now be returned to guys on the two-deep, depending on their performances over the past couple of weeks. Also, is it just me, or did Czajkowski's kick-offs look a hell of a lot better against Wake than they did against Pitt? Hopefully these issues will get better through performance-based evaluations on the part of the coaching staff, and through practice and hard work on the part of the players.
