why does it seem like so man of the questions are leading the guys to say something bad about another part of the team? I'm not a fan of asking Willie if he gets frustrated by the defense giving up yards in the passing game. Same for asking Toney why he didn't get the ball despite running well. There were other questions that bugged me as well. This was a tough loss for the guys and I wish the questions didn't feel so directed.
You are absolutely right Alum02. Its more frustrating listening to these media members trying to bait the players into saying something negative about their teammates. I am proud of our guys not giving into the questions though.
Hey WPH/WPP, is there a chance that you could run "interference" in the interviews when a bad question comes across? Just an idea.
Lets get back to the drawing board and go over some basics.
Matt - We could do that, but the reason we put up the interviews uncut is because we want you to hear the actual questions that are asked and how the players actually respond.
So true, WPP. In addition, it would be unprofessional to head off someone else's question. The nature of the questions show the nature of the reporter. God Bless WPP for having the courtesy of showing the uncut interviews, because they aren't shown anywhere else. That, in itself, allows us to hear those leading questions, and to see what our players and coaches actually go through every game and especially after a loss like this one.
This is not the same patsy Duke team. They aren't the push-over that they have been for the past decade. Cutcliff has these guys motivated. He is teaching them. They aren't scared of us. They aren't scared of VT. They aren't scared. Thaddeus Lewis played one of the most complete games that I have ever seen. Credit goes to their team and their coaches. I do think that it is safe to say that we have already lost the mythical "State Championship," but IMO, the winner will simply be the tallest midget.
We have to regroup. Circle the wagons. Our players can't get down, because then we will be out. We have put together some impressive late season runs for the past two years, and we can do it again.
I want to tidy up by saying that Bobby Floyd is a freight train! In the loss, it probably won't get mentioned anywhere else, but the jollywhopper he laid on Williams (?) ... that was nasty! I had to rewind it back several times. I haven't seen a hit that hard in a long time.
