Coach O'Brien had some good news after practice on Thursday night, announcing that running back Toney Baker had been granted a 6th year of eligibility by the NCAA. O'Brien said that he hadn't talked in detail with Baker about his future, and that they would do so after the season. This is great news for both Baker and the football program. Baker has worked extremely hard to get back to where he is, and has reminded everyone of how special of a player he can be.
Baker is 11th all-time in NC State in rushing yards (1,936) and in rushing touchdowns (17). If Toney decides to come back next season, he could solidify himself as one of the best backs in NC State history.

MAN what a great day to be a wolfpacker. Baker gets his REAL 4th year and SID gets a big time commit. Everyone hang in there, I know we Wolfpackers hear this all the time but honestly the future looks very bright! GO PACK.
It is great insurance but I think it's strong bet he leaves. He was played so well this season, looked extremely confident and would be a stand out in the combines IMO.
Probably a late 3rd rounder but it's his dream job. I would love nothing more then two 100 plus all purpose yards and a lot of "Touchdown Toney" action in the VT and UNC game.
Status on being invited to a Senior Bowl is unknown-especially since he's been granted one more year.
