NC State Commits: Week 13 Recap


David Amerson (S) - Dudley (11-1) had no trouble putting points on the board in their first round match-up against Smith, beating their rival 47-20. With the seconds ticking off the clock at the end of the first half, NC State commit David Amerson ran back a kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown to put the Panthers up 21-14 at the half. Dudley will play High Point Central this Friday in the second round.

Tony Creecy (WR)
- The Southern Durham (11-1) Spartans beat East Wake 34-20 on Friday night to advance to the second round of the state playoffs. NC State commit Tony Creecy gave the Spartans a boost with 3 receptions for 85 yards, with one of them being a 46-yard touchdown reception. Southern Durham will play Athens Drive this Friday in the second round of the playoffs. This match-up involves 3 NC State commits in Tony Creecy of Southern Durham and Robert Crisp and Pete Singer of Athens Drive. Wolfpack fans should head out to Southern Durham this Friday night to show their support.

- Person was not able to stop the Athens Drive Jaguars' (9-3) air attack, which piled on 356 yards passing. NC State commit Pete Singer had 2 receptions for 17 yards in Athens Drive's 35-17 first round win over Person. The Jags will face Tony Creecy's Southern Durham squad in the second round this Friday.

DJ Green (S) - Westside (10-1) was dominant in the first round of the Georgia state playoffs, defeating Mt. Zion 33-7. The Seminoles will travel to Lakeside this Friday in the second round.

Thomas Teal (DT) - Marlboro County (12-0) remained undefeated this weekend, crushing Socastee 41-3. The Bulldogs will face Lake City this Friday in the second round.

Tyler Brosius (QB) - Despite the fact that Tyler Brosius technically had one of his worst games of the season, the Mountaineers (10-1-1) held on to defeat Hickory 17-10 in the first round of the state playoffs. While Brosius only completed 8 of his 19 passes for 119 yards, he still was responsible for both of the Mountaineer's touchdowns, throwing for two touchdowns. Tuscola will play Burns this Friday in the second round.

Torian Box (OT) - North Clayton (9-2) won their first round game over Bainbridge this past Friday night by the score of 19-7. The Eagles will play Brunswick this Friday in the second round.

Tobais Palmer (RB) - Georgia Military College handled their business this past Saturday, defeating Lackawanna 35-7. Tobais Palmer had a 1-yard touchdown run in the contest. Coming into the game, Palmer had run for 614 yards and 10 touchdowns in 8 games (7.9 yards a carry).
