Shaking It Up:

-Henry Lawson (R.So.) has moved from being the back-up Center to the back-up at the Right Guard position behind R.J. Mattes (R.Fr.).

-Camden Wentz (Fr.) has moved into the back-up Center role behind Ted Larsen (R.Gr.)

-Zach Allen (R.Fr.) and Andrew Wallace (R.Fr.) have swapped spots with Allen taking the back-up role at Left Guard behind Andy Barbee (R.Gr.), and Wallace taking the back-up role at Left Tackle behind Julian Williams (R.Gr.).

-Even though the depth chart didn't show it going into the Murray St. game, Rashard Smith (Fr.) started at Cornerback, and is sitting at the starting Cornerback position again. C.J. Wilson (R.Fr.) will back him up.

-Clem Johnson (Sr.) has moved from starting at Boundary Safety to starting at the Free Safety position. Brandon Bishop (Fr.) will back him up.

-Earl Wolff (R.Fr.) has moved into the starting Boundary Safety role with Bobby Floyd (Sr.) backing him up.

If Wenzt gets reps's, which most likely will be the case- then he will be the third true Fr on Offense to play so far (Washington, Watson being the others).

Defense has seen to true Fr, Smith and Bishop, play already.

To bad that Wayne Crawford has been out with a foot injury and thus we're seeing last week Henry Lawson take a shot at C and this week perhaps Wenzt. Heard nothing but good things about the transition from DL to C for Crawford over the training season so hopefully he heals soon.

With Wallace moving to LT and Allen at LG they have now got back to where they played all last season for the scout team. It always seems that TOB and Coach Horton gets their lineman trained to play multi positions and it is one of the qualities that the former BC guys in the Pro's have over many of their peers.

BTW, in case any one was curious it is just about certain RB Curtis Underwood and the Coaching staff have a plan to RS this season. With his experience and leadership qualities he will continue to be dressed and ready to go each game day if needed but this seems like they want to give him the best chance possible with his 2 years remaining.

Maybe Murkus Kuhn is in the same boat but I'm just shooting in the dark on this one- he may have already played a snap and I never noticed.

In the TOB press-conference below, he states that Kuhn's status is "he's not in the 2-deep".

i'm pretty sure Wentz played against MurrSt.

I also think the reason you haven't heard an announcement on Kuhn, Underwood etc. is due to the mysterious nature of the injury bug. If the guys in front of them don't go down, they'll redshirt, otherwise they might have to play. Michael Lemon obviously took Kuhn's spot and Kuhn was pretty good already. This will give him a year to really get faster and understand the entire game more. His freshman year he was just better than anyone else we had so TOB had to play him.

In helps that both Kuhn and Underwood are two of the best spirited teamates on the program. Curtis is tight buds with Russell and Kuhn seems to be loving his time stateside in Raleigh to the max. Both of these players could be very product ACC players down the road and will be the first to represent a true 5th year TOB system player.

If we ever do go more exclusively 3-4 then IMP Kuhn would fit the DE in the scheme perfectly. I say exclusively because in fact we do play 3-4 some of the time - when Willie Young or Audi Augustine have wider splits and are in a two point stance then its a 3-4 plain and simple. Audi especially has done played this way and dropped back into zone coverage.
