After last night's thriller at Carter-Finley, Fre'Shad Hunter, standout Defensive Lineman out of Cary High School (Cary, NC), didn't want to wait any longer to make his decision of where he would be playing college football. According to Scout and Rivals, Hunter decided to commit to the Wolfpack last night after NC State's 38-31 victory over Pitt. While many believed NC State to be Hunter's leader throughout most of his recruitment, the decision wasn't easy for the young man, considering the fact that some of elite football programs across the nation had thrown scholarship offers his way. He chose NC State over scholarship offers from Florida St., LSU, Tennessee, Syracuse, South Carolina, Purdue and ECU. You always love to have a kid commit that grew up a NC State fan, and that is what exactly happened last night with Fre'Shad Hunter.
Hunter is a consensus 4-Star Defensive Linemen that possesses great athleticism. Standing 6'5" and weighing in at 250lbs, Hunter boasts a 4.7 40-time, a 320lb bench press, 415lb squat and a 29 inch vertical leap. Rivals ranks him as the #12 Defensive End in the 2010 class and Scout ranks him as the #18 Defensive Tackle. With the addition of Hunter to the 2010 class, the Pack have commits from 3 of the Top-10 players in the state of North Carolina with both Scout and Rivals ranking him in the Top-5 (Scout - #4 and Rivals - #5). He joins NC State commits Robert Crisp and Anthony Creecy in North Carolina's Top-10.

14 Responses to "Hunter To Run With The Pack!"Man oh man. . . watching that highlight tape only one thing comes to my mind. . .POWER. With our coaching staff their going to couple that POWER with technique. Great pick up on top of the great win!
GO Pack.
Also WPH do you guys have any more recruiting news or updates? Amerson commiting any time soon? Anyone else we're looking good with??
Awesome. This is HUGE for TOB and his commitment to be the best in the ACC with the best in state talent.
Now we have to go out and support Cary and Athens Drive this season. Seem to remember the Imps taking care of business against Apex, sorry fellas..
Haha...thanks for the condolences Jose.
haha great point Jose, Cary did stick it to Apex!!! Being a Cary Alum, this makes me happy. I will be in attendance at the Cary vs Athens game to try and get some film on both of these players...
I surely wouldn't want to be your basic, joe average HS offensive lineman, and have to go up against that. Talk about a loooong Friday evening.
In some of those clips it even looked like the opposing players just went to the ground prematurely. I guess, so they wouldn't have to take another hit from the guy.
Welcome to the Pack
I too am a Cary Alum so this is awesome news! Seeing great players from Cary like Hunter and National heavyweight champion Palma in wrestling coming to State is always great. I plan on making it to homecoming vs. Athens over fall break. I'll be sure to cheer loud for Hunter and the guys on Athens. Go Imps!
Go Pack!
Not quite sure why he has been on the offensive line the entire year for Cary. One would think that a 4 star DE would beable to win a spot on the def side of the ball, especially considering that will be his position in college. Just funny to me after the dominating season he had last year...

Good video of Hunter...
Any more hints or details on Brosious or Amerson?
doesn't necessarily mean much but Brosius does not have an offer according to PP or Rivals site.
Amerson just visited Notre Dame and he is visiting UNC on November 14th for the UNC vs. Miami game. At this point Amerson's Top-4 is NC State, Notre Dame, Clemson and Virginia Tech. Many still believe the Pack to be in the lead. He is looking to possibly visit NC State and Wake Forest in the near future.
Brosius was at the game on Saturday. Even though he gave a verbal to UVA back in June it seems like he is still hunting for offers.
And Brosius isn't from "these here parts", either. He made an effort to attend this game.
Sorry, but this CAN'T be a good sign if you're a UVa fan. The Hoos are 0-3, with many more losses to come. Maybe this kid doesn't want to be a part of a total rebuilding project?
I believe he is surely shopping around for more offers.
