Holt 3rd Fastest to 13,000

This past Sunday, Torry Holt reminded football fans across the nation that his name deserves to be mentioned in the short-list of greatest receivers to ever play in the National Football League. Holt showed up in a big way against his former team, posting his first 100-yard game since week 13 of the 2007 season. While crossing the century mark was a big deal for Holt, it was his 41-yard reception in the first quarter that made the most noise. The deep pass marked the longest of the season for Holt, but the most significant thing of this reception, was that it propelled him over the 13,000 yard milestone. Holt is the 12th player in NFL history to reel in 13,000+ yards in a career, and he accomplished this feat in 164 career games. Only two players in NFL history crossed the 13,000 barrier faster than Holt: Jerry Rice, 154 games; Marvin Harrison, 162 games.

Holt, who still has a couple of quality years left in the tank, will finish as one of the most prolific wide receivers to ever play the game. NC State fans should be proud that a player of Holt's quality, on and off the field, once donned the Red and White in Carter-Finley on Saturday afternoons.

I am very proud of how the Holt family represents the Wolfpack on the field and off. Terence and Tory both have great character.

    Congratulations Tory!
