NC State Postgame Notes vs. Duke

Scoring Early and Scoring Often
Both offenses put on a show in the first half, as every single possession ended in a touchdown for the first six possessions until Duke fumbled at the Wolfpack six-yardline with 4:02 left in the second quarter. It marked the first time since at least 1988, in a game at Carter-Finley, that the Pack and Duke finished in a 43-43 tie. NC State scored four times in the first half, while Duke scored five times.

Pack Starts Fifth Secondary Combo
In the 5th game of the season, NC State used its fifth combination of starters in the defensive secondary. Saturday's starters were DeAndre Morgan and Justin Byers at corner and Bobby Floyd and Clem Johnson at safety. It marked the second start of Floyd's career.

No Penalties for Pack
After averaging 10 penalties and over 80 penalty yards lost over the previous two games, NC State was not penalized in the contest, the first time that has happened since the 1989 Maryland game. A span of 247 games.

Graham's Return One of the Longest Ever for Pack
TJ Graham's 93 yard kickoff return for a TD in the 3rd quarter tied for the 11th longest KOR in NC State history. Graham holds the school record for longest kickoff return, as he had a 100 yard return for a TD last year vs. Boston College.

Baker Moves Up Career Rushing List
Runningback Tony Baker moved into 13th place in school history in career rushing with 9 carries for 73 yards. He now posts 1,667 rushing yards for his career. Baker averaged 8.1 yards per carry in today's game, the 2nd best single game average of his career.

Most Points Allowed Since 2003
NC State surrendered 49 points to Duke, the most points allowed by a Pack defense since the 2003 Florida State team scored 50 in Tallahassee. It was the most points NC State has allowed at home since giving up 58 in 2000 to FSU.

Combined Offense Totals
NC State and Duke combined for 840 yards of total offense Saturday, the highest tally for both teams in a Wolfpack game since the Pack and Miami combined for 840 yards in a 2004 contest.

Duke's Passing Day
Duke QB Thaddeus Lewis passed for 459 yards against NC State today, the highest total by an opponent QB since BJ Symons of Texas Tech passed for 586 yards. The five TD throws allowed to Lewis was the most for a Pack opponent since the 2004 Miami game when Brock Berlin had five.

Time of Possession
NC State only had the ball for 19:36 today, that is the least amount of possession time for the Pack since the opening game of the 1998 season (18:13 vs. Ohio)

Riley is a true Freshman out of Leland, NC. He played on special teams in every game except for the season opener, tallying 42 snaps. He has 5 tackles and 2 knockdown blocks.
