Javon Walker Slated For Career Ending Knee Surgery

Javon Walker will be undergoing a career ending knee injury according to head coach Tom O'Brien. Walker was a junior safety who's been battling a knee injury all season and had not yet seen game action. Walker missed all of last season as he continued to rehab from reconstructive knee surgery that was required after tearing his ACL against Miami in 2007. Before his injury (in 2007) Javon was leading the team in special teams tackles. The most memorable moment of his brief career came against East Carolina when he tallied 12 tackles. He was hoping to be able to make it back this season, however, doctors recommended hanging up the spikes and taking his long term health into consideration.

"Sure, we are disappointed that this had to happen, but Javon made the right decision for himself." said O'Brien

Tough situation for both him and the team but Javon has to do what's best for his long-term health. Really sucks.
