- After just two weeks of play, true freshman Jarvis Byrd has worked his way into the starting lineup. After backing up C.J. Wilson at the Boundary Corner position for the past two weeks, he now has moved into the starting role. Gary Grant has moved from the Field Corner position to the Boundary Corner position to back up Byrd.
- C.J. Wilson has moved from the starting Boundary Corner position, to the starting role at the Field Corner position. DeAndre Morgan will back up Wilson.
- Sterling Lucas will be starting at the Middle Linebacker position and Dwayne Maddox will move back to his original starting slot at Weak-Side Linebacker. Asante Cureton will back up Lucas, and Terrell Manning will back up Maddox.

Im not sure if its a product of poor CB play or good Byrd play but either way, have to be excited if your this young man.
Morgan continues to be on again off again, I really wish he could settle down and play like the veterin he is capable of.
Im kinda perplexed by the Lucas start which moved Maddox back to WeakLB, ahead of Manning. From everything Ive seen from a fans perspective, Manning has outplayed Maddox this year and deserves to start ahead of him. Now I know what yall are thinking," Seriously PL we know you have been high on Manning since spring training" but he has really played well for a freshman. His speed allows him to make up mistakes quicker than Maddox and he has more natual skills at that position. My assumption is Maddox cant play the MLB spot well enough so Lucas gets the nod thus bumping Maddox over. I love the potential Audi Cole has but too many times do I see him get burned in coverage overplaying the run. It seems his instincts arnt quite as quick I would like to see them, but its his missed tackles that really baffles me. Hes a big enough guy to wrap up a WR/RB. If not Im infavor of moving Manning to that SLB, although he hasnt practiced there all year so it may be a stretch to throw him in.
Either way BIG game this weekend vs Clemson...
Best memory I have playing Clemson was early 2000s @ clemson when P Rivers/ TA Mclendon & co. blanked the tigers IN death valley on a Thursday night. I VIVIDLY rememeber TA hurdeling over several linemen to rumble for a 70+ yard score onto a career day. OHHHH CAN WE BE SO LUCKY THIS YEAR????
Unfortunately, I don't think Audie has the speed to ever cover the field side of a play. He is a good pass rusher, but his coverage has been horrible at times and containment has been a huge issue for us this year. I fear what Spiller will do when he repeatedly gets the corner and our young DBs aren't there to help. While I don't know what Audie could do at MLB given some missed tackles, I would love to see Manning on the strong side. Just my humble opinion.
BTW...The kickoff for the Clemson game will be at Noon.
The Schedule and Statistics have been updated. Sorry for the delay.
Also, according to the PackFootball twitter account:
"Game time for Virginia Tech will be determined on Sunday as the TV networks have called for a six-day window."
Why is McKeen starting over Lemon? Someone tell me what he's done compared to Lemon.
I think TOB likes what Lemon is able to bring to the table for the 2nd line. Since they play as many snaps as the 1st he is able to anchor it. Just my guess, because he has looked a lot better than Mckeen.
I think TOB mentioned in an interview that they moved Maddox to MLB against FSU and now Lucas to MLB against MD and Clemson because they like the matchups. I would assume that means that Maddox is better than Lucas in coverage and ahead of Manning in run support.
