Rashard Smith: NC State vs USC (Postgame Interview)
True Freshmen Rashard Smith had a big game against South Carolina:
-4 tackles (1 Special Teams), 1 tackle for loss, and 1 sack.
-1 punt return for 31 yards.
Quotes from Smith:
"I think I played real well. I had to come out here and help my teammates. We played a good game. We've just got to come back out here Sunday and go to work."
"It's the beginning of the season. Most teams make the biggest improvement between the first game and the second game."
"We practiced hard all year long for this game, but to come away not victorious it was disappointing. We've just got to bounce back, we can't hold our heads down because of one game."

"The biggest improvement in a team comes in between the 1st and 2nd game". Sharp answer for a guy just finishing his first ever game, under the lights, on the national stage.
Wait till he finds out how much improvement Coach and this staff have shown thoughout the season - backed up by the fact that we have come together and gotten stronger week by week in both of O'Brien's years.
That he had to spell Rashard Smith was pretty classic...S-M-I-T-H.
WPP, was that you that asked the question about the punt return and plays on special teams. If it was thank you for asking a straight forward question about the game. Some of the other media dudes really are looking for the $1,000 sports psychology Q/A and it is pretty amusing at times.
Jose...you caught me red handed.
I haven't seen the TV replays of Rashard's Punt return, other than the jumbotron at the game, but was it ever determined whether Rashard was ripped down by the facemask, or the shoulderpad, at the end of his run? Sure looked scary when seen in live action and the stadium replay. I had hoped Rashard might have a comment on that.
Rashard sure looks like a valuable defensive and special teams contributor to this team in the future.
It was DEFINTELY a penalty and the ESPN announcers talked about it for several minutes.
I have this strange feeling that Rashard is going to go in on Sunday, watch film and get to work. Just me?
Great guy and will be a special player.
I'm not sure how no one asks him about that "tackle"
